Helping students grow
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme focusses on whole person education, helping students grow not only academically, but also socially, culturally, physically and emotionally.
Designed to develop internationally-minded citizens, the curriculum framework is underpinned by the essential elements of knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes, and action. Each of these are clearly reflected in the IB Learner Profile which provides students with a reference point to develop lifelong learning skills.
Primary Years 1 – 6
Students are actively engaged in six Units of Inquiry throughout the year, exploring, researching and investigating the central ideas of each topic. Learning experiences are extended beyond the classroom through regular excursions that provide relevantly and meaning to investigations. Although curriculum areas are integrated where appropriate, specialist lessons are also given.
